We believe that for a stong foal you need to have solid mares to build on. We want our mares to have sound minds, bodies and personalities. We believe we have found this in our mares.
We currently own three broodmares. Edgewood Sanibel is a full Lippitt mare from the wonderful breeding stock of Edgewood Morgans in Missouri. Her sire is Edgewood DC Lindsley and her dam is Edgewood Ethan Ellen. She is bred to Equinox Beaubrook for a May 2009 full Lippitt foal.
Broadax John's Lizzy is a half Lippitt mare. She was a bit of a surprise as we actually purchased her as a grade Morgan. After a lot of research, and finally blood typing through the AMHR, we discovered that her sire is the Lippitt stallion Royaton Herbie and her dam is Fielday Susette. She is a rare find with King Latigo as her maternal grandsire!!! Liz is my trail horse and is very sturdy and strong going even at 21. She is bred to Equinox Beaubrook for a May 2009 3/4 Lippitt foal
We are excited to announce the arrival of Liz's foal on July 25, 2007. By Acorn Ridge Bodacious, "Junior" (Broadax Junior Mint) is a handsome bay gelding with markings that match his dam's. He is quite personable and we look forward to seeing how he develops as we start some base training. You can see more of him on our sales page!
Our third mare was added in the summer of 2007. Yellow Iris Delight is typical of the Morgan breed in the fact that she will give you her all and then some. Her sire is the World Champion Yellow Iris Jaybe, and she is out of Mancunian Petticoat! What great bloodlines! She is currently my saddle horse and we love going for trail rides in the state land woods that surround our farm. Pictured below carrying both my daughter Anna and myself. Dee has been bred to Acorn Ridge Bodacious for a late May 2009 foal.
